Crawling Forth Into the Public Eye Again
The other day I made another visit to the Lovecraft eZine Podcast livestream, prompted by the recent-ish release of Black Hole Sundown. It’s been awhile, but always a treat to sit down with host Mike Davis and the rest of the panel.
Do enjoy it, if you have a spare 90 minutes you can cobble together here and there.
On my end — umm, literally — conditions behind the scenes were less than ideal. A week prior, I’d done myself a hamstring tear, so sitting for more than a few minutes gets reeeeally uncomfortable. Years ago, I rigged up a standing option for my battle cruiser of a desk, which works great for nearly every use scenario, except when the webcam needs to come into play.
And because these annoyances must cluster to amuse the gods, a few days before, our central A/C unit died at the peak of a string of near-100-degree days, and is still awaiting repair. August and a roomful of heat-generating electronics…? Say no more.
None of which stopped me, that morning, from installing an ADAT-equipped 500-series chassis for the Green Man Studio side of things. Oh my — does it run warm.
Still awaiting modules. Then it will run even warmer.
Hobbled and wilted is no way to go through life.
But what do we do? We carry on, is what we do.
